We have all been there at some point and it can come in many forms. And it isn’t pleasant in the slightest. But that doesn’t mean that you should suffer with the feeling nausea. So whether you feel sick because of a tummy bug, food poisoning, pregnancy, or even a bad-ass hangover, here is the cure to help you ride it out. This anti-sickness smoothie has been tried and tested by myself for some of the worst hangovers you have ever seen, and if it can get me through a whiskey hangover, then it should help you out in any other way.
Everyone at some point has thought about losing weight but for me it’s never about losing weight. It’s about being healthy. So when me and the rest of my brood were struck down with a stomach bug, I was pretty annoyed about being ill.
This was a piece I had entered into the Oxford Literary Festival last year….or I tried to. Maybe it was fate but the email wouldn’t send….
A sense of adventure
Emily’s illness had taken its toll on her. Once young and full of life, she now finds herself imprisoned in her own body. The ravages of the human condition had taken over her body many years ago. Her senses are still active yet she is bed bound and unable to communicate with anyone, there is one thing that keeps her alive, her ability to chew. This involuntary action to something brushing her lips not only nourishes her body, it feeds her soul too. It might not seem like much but this minor action of consuming a meal, something which many of us take for granted, helps to take her on an adventure in her mind. It excites her senses and propels her through space and time, limitless and free.
I feel ill today. No, it’s not a hangover but it sure feels like one mixed with some flu feeling. Maybe it is the flu. I’ll be honest, I don’t really care. Right now I’m lying in bed trying to keep my eyes open while resisting the urge to vomit. Yep, I feel awful. Despite this I still got up this morning and went for a run.
