The Book

Meditation is one of the most talked about things to help protect your mental health. That’s all well and good but do you know how to meditate? If you have never meditated before, there is a good chance that you have no idea where to start. Don’t worry, everyone is the same when they start. Making Happy Work is a step-by-step guide to learning the art of meditation that you can use every day and incorporate into your daily activities. There are two parts and each part has various sections to help break it down even further.

Thoughts on the Book

The book is sectioned into different areas so you can pick and choose where to start. I have been meditating for years and there are times that I have trouble with it. Making Happy Work really breaks it down so that you will know what you are doing and remind you why you are doing it. For me, I find that life flows better when I am properly present and not distracting myself. But it is tough to stay in that state of mind all the time (which is a shame). For me, being able to apply meditation to my everyday life and experience the benefits would be a massive benefit to me and my family.

Thoughts on the Author

Mick calls himself an Inner Architect but it’s not just a fancy title, he is an architect as well as a yoga teacher. In fact, Mick has a list of credentials to his name. He is a senior meditation and yoga teacher, a writer, a university lecturer, an award-winner artist, and architect. Is it any wonder Mick needed to find his inner calm, he is a really busy person! He is also the founder and CEO of beanddo. Mick explains where his love of meditation came from and how his practice has grown over the years.

Overall

When it comes to meditation, it is one of those things that needs to be practiced a lot in order to feel the benefits. Let’s face it, old habits die hard, and when you are used to spinning into a spiral of negativity when you are faced with a problem, that is what you do. Making Happy Work will not give you a quick fix but it will give you the basic tools to start and grow your meditation goals.
