When it comes to changing your life it can seem like hard work, and looks like it can cost a lot of money. It’s not surprising that a lot of people who want to change feel like they can’t because they are constantly fed images of perfection. But improving who you are is not about perfection, it’s progression. Improving you does not happen over-night, it can take years but that is the fun of it.

Even if you are broke, down on your luck, and feel like the worst person on the planet who can’t improve, there is a way. I have found a way to change your life, one step at a time, that will only cost you a pound a week for the next year. This will get you on the right track to self-improvement. That’s right. So even if you are flat broke and think that you don’t have the funds to change a little bit every week, then read on. This week it is beauty on a budget.

One of the best places to start if you want to change you is your appearance. How you look reflects how you feel and it should be an expression of who you are. Let’s pretend that you don’t have the money for a total beauty overhaul, that’s fine. If there is one thing that I know people struggle with, it’s starting off on their beauty journey. But rule number one of beauty is to be clean. There is no point in putting on make-up when you have a layer of dirt on you. And no amount of perfume will cover the smell of B.O. And being clean doesn’t mean that you have to spend a fortune. Having a bath or shower every day is a great way to get your beauty routine off to a good start.
Now before you go off on me about showering or bathing every day because you read something on the internet about how daily washing is bad for you, I would like to point something out. If you go out in public, use the gym, or just leave your house, you probably should shower or bath every day. First of all, you need to wash the dirt from the outside world off you. Pollution and germs can stick to you. This can make you ill. Washing every day washes the ick from other people off you. I know, it’s gross, I hate to imagine what gunk is stuck to me after a visit at my local shopping centre. You might be clean but other people aren’t, wash the gunk from you. If you don’t leave the house much then showering can be done every other day.
Starting off our journey this week is a way to get clean for only £1. The items pictured above are from the Tesco Value range and came to less than a pound, 95p in fact. And what can you get for that? A big bottle of shampoo, a bar of soap, and a roll-on deodorant. All of these items should last around a month, even with using them every day. The great thing about these are the size of the products. That’s a pretty big bottle of shampoo for less than 50p. Roll-on deodorants can last a lot longer than their spray counterparts. And the soap, it can be used in the bath, in the shower, washing your face in the morning, and to wash your hands every time you go to the loo. And they smell pretty good too. These are perfect for getting on the bandwagon and feeling fresh every day.
What did you think of our first £1 challenge? Could you use these products? What are you planning on changing in 2016?
