Russia’s cities are some of the most colourful and interesting, and the capital of Moscow is a must-see. With lots of history, beautiful architecture and the ease of walking around, it’s a top pick for many people.

Art and Architecture
One of the best things about visiting any city is exploring their history. Art and architecture both offer incredible ways to do that. If you love architecture, you won’t be bored in Moscow. Whether you’re looking for traditional Russian architecture or something a bit more modern, you can find it just by walking around the city. Art and history lovers can also head to one of the museums several excellent museums and galleries. There’s The State Tretyakov Gallery, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, and plenty of other places to get your art and history fix.
Beautiful Parks
Like many other large cities, Moscow has a number of excellent parks. If you’re looking for somewhere to spend a lot of time outdoors, you’re sure to love the parks on offer in Moscow. You can simply walk or cycle around, have a picnic, spend some time in a cafe or restaurant, play some sports, or even get out on a lake for some boating fun. Some of the top Moscow parks include Gorky Park, which has been open since 1928, and the more modern Zaryadye, which has only existed since 2017. You can often catch an event, like a concert or a movie, in Moscow’s parks too.
Easy to Walk Around
A lot of people enjoy being able to walk around a city when they’re traveling. Having to drive or take cabs everywhere is annoying and can get expensive. Fortunately, Moscow is pretty walkable. If you stay at the Renaissance Moscow Monarch Centre Hotel, the staff will give you tips for getting around and seeing Moscow like a local. Plenty of the main points of interest in the city are within walking distance of each other. Walking is easy, but it’s also easy to take a bus or explore on a river bus.
Nightlife
If you love a good night out, Moscow is an excellent place to visit. Whether you want to spend your evening in a bar or you’re looking for a good club to party in all night, you can find a diverse range of options. You can head to Noor Bar if you’re looking for cocktails for Propaganda for a night out clubbing. The clubbing scene is much newer than in many other cities, having begun around the late ’90s, but there’s still plenty to entertain you.
Moscow has a lot to offer the curious traveler. No matter what you’re looking for, you can find fun things to do.

My great grand parents were from Russia and it’s definitely on my bucket list. But yeah, with everything in the news lately, I do feel a little weird about visiting.
Although Russia wouldn’t be the first place on my must-see list, I can see why it is so appealing. Moscow is a beautiful city with a lot of rich history.
It does look like such an amazing place, filled with culture and beauty. I would love to be able to visit at some point. I am sure it’s an amazing experience.
