Tony Stark is back and this time, the whole world and its mother knows that he is Iron Man. And while this might be kind of cool, it is causing all sorts of problems for the people around him.

The Plot
After the death and destruction of the first Iron Man movie, you would think that Tony Stark would want to take it easy. But that isn’t how Tony rolls. Tony is facing a big problem with his heart and the mini arc reactor in his chest. Without the arc reactor, the metal shards will kill him, but the reactor is slowly poisoning him. If facing his own mortality wasn’t enough, the ghosts of his fathers past come back looking for revenge. Can Tony solve the riddle of his heart and save the day? He might if he can concentrate for five minutes without someone trying to ruin his lifes work.
Thoughts on the Story
The first time I watched this movie, I hated it. It didn’t make sense to me but that’s because I didn’t know how it was all going to come together. There is a lot going on. From the heavy presence of SHIELD and all of the references or nods to other heroes, there is a lot of little things that you might miss if you aren’t paying attention. To be fair, after you have watched other Marvel movies or are really familiar with the comic books, it will make more sense.
Fin
Iron Man 2 can be slightly confusing the first time that you watch it, mainly because it is setting up so many other movies and makes reference to so many other characters. If you are just a casual observer of the Marvel Universe, a lot of the references will fly over your head. I’ve had the movie on DVD for years, I don’t know how many times I have watched it, and I’m still spotting stuff. Don’t write this movie off as a bad job, it does a perfect job of setting up a lot of other movies.
