If only everything in this life was to be so clear as to be black and white. Of course, it’s not, but that doesn’t mean the gorgeous monochromes don’t have a place in your interior decorating life, particularly in the bedroom. Read on to find out who to achieve this look.

White walls or black walls?
It may seem like you have either the option to paint all the walls black or keep them white in this sort of bedroom, but to achieve the perfect look you need to be a little more flexible in your thinking than that.
After all, you can achieve great success by mixing black and white on the walls either by painting different panels different tones, or even by doing the upper or lower half of the wall in black and leaving the rest white.
You may even wish to go for a modern and dynamic pattern in black and white, like the one in the video above.
There is even another option which you may want to try and its using wallpaper, often in natural designs such as a vertical print of finely drawn trees like silver birch. Then you can include you black and white theme in your bedroom space, without being bowled over by a strong design.
Beds and bedding
The focal point of every bedroom is truly the bed, and usually, when you go for a black and white look, you will need to replace this to ensure that it fits in with your new scheme. Often your best bet is first to pick a frame that works in the newly decorated room, in black or white. Something you can get in either traditional Victorian iron bedstead styles, or more modern and angular laminates reasonably easily.
Then once you frame is chosen you can pick a mattress and bedding to compliment it. To carpet or not to carpet
Now, you may be scratching your head when it comes to carpeting a black and white bedroom. After all, white carpets are not the most practical for long-term use, and black carpets can feel like they are sucking all of the light from the room. That is why many modern black and white bedrooms eschew the use of carpets all together and go for a different type of flooring entirely.
Hardwood is usually a hardy choice and can be bought in a range of tones and stains that would compliment you black and white theme without looking out of place.
Of course, you could always add a rug for comfort and to keep your feet warm in the morning. Try a sheepskin that is bleached as white as possible, and remember to place it under the bed but not right against the back wall, as this can help make your room look more spacious and give you a better result overall in your black and white boudoir.
