January is a month that we go a bit full on with the whole new year, new me thing. So, with this in mind, I have a massive edition of the Beauty Edit for you. Featuring a massive range of products that I have tried and tested over the last few months, this is your ultimate list of beauty products for 2019.

Shampoos and Conditioners
I’m going to try and not be boring about the shampoos and conditioners, but there is only so much that you can say about them. Tresemme Shampoo + Conditioner 
seems to be one of those brands that I keep going back to. Maybe it is the big bottles that last more than a week, or the way that I can get a brush through my hair when I use them. Or maybe it is both. When my hair was blue, Aussie Colour Mate
was an absolute miracle worker for my hair. It smells amazing, helps to keep the colour in, and leaves your hair so soft and smooth. Another brand that I keep coming back to is 
Herbal Essences Dazzling Shine
. I love the different fruity scents that you can choose from and the lime scent for the dazzling shine shampoo and conditioner is definitely a zesty way to wake yourself up in the morning.

One brand I will be actively avoiding in 2019 is Alberto Balsam, and I have a few reasons why. First of all, it just doesn’t cut it against my hair. Second, it will strip the colour that you are using. If you are on a budget, this is a great brand to use as it is cheap and cheerful so don’t ditch it completely. There may be a time when I might need to use it again, but for the moment it is a no from me. Another brand I will be actively avoiding is Boots own brand shampoo. This is another shampoo that doesn’t cut it when it comes to my hair.
Shower Gels and Body Washes
If you have been here for a while, you will know that I’m a bit OCD about personal hygiene. I will quite happily go without makeup for the day, as long as I get a shower. When I was marathon training, Sanex Dermo Moisturising Shower Gel
was a life saver for my skin. It done a great job of soothing my skin and washing away the sweat from training.
Bath Time Pleasures
If you are the sort of person to turn your nose up at a bath, I’m guessing that you have been doing it wrong. For me, having a bath is about more than just getting clean. It is about relaxing, detoxing and recovery. After training, your muscles can be pretty sore, so a soak in a bath with Westlab Epsom Salt is just what you need.
Hand Care
Hand care is something that I like to take seriously because without my hands I would be screwed. So why not show them some appreciation? Like I said, unicorns were a big thing in my house last year so it’s not surprising that I had Carex Unicorn Magic Antibacterial Handwash
in my bathroom for handwashing. Radox Antibacterial Nourishing Hand Wash
was another big hit in my house mainly because this one seems more like a sophisticated anti-bac than most others that are available. But the absolute winner has to be Original Source Handwash
because it’s vegan and not tested on animals. Ok, enough handwashing stuff, even though it is important and prevents the spread of germs, let’s move on. Ok, one more quick hand cleaning thingy, Merci Handy
anti-bac cleansing gel is really handy for in your bag when you are out and about. Trust me, people are gross and you need to protect yourself from other people’s germs.

For removing nail polish, I had a go with Pretty Twist and Out Acetone Nail Varnish Remover
for a change. All you have to do is dip your fingers in and the nail polish slides off. It is really fun to use, and would be really great for little ones who might spill a bottle of acetone when they give themselves a manicure. But it isn’t really the best for grownups, mainly because you can’t really do your toes with it. Trust me, I tried, it’s super awkward. And no hand care section would be complete without some hand cream. I am completely in love with Crabtree & Evelyn Summer Hill Hand Therapy
because it is so thick and luxurious for your skin. My best friend was the person who recommended it to me and I’m so glad that she did.
Facial Skin Care
In order to get a good finish for your makeup, you need to have a good base and that starts with your skin. I love using face masks and this pack of 7th Heaven Pamper Peel Off Face Mask Pack
was great for my weekly facial routine.
Oral Care
Teeth tend to be a thing that people forget about, and there aren’t that many bloggers who include oral care in their beauty roundups. So where could be a better place to start than with some toothpaste? Charcoal was a big thing in the oral care area and a lot of brands jumped on the bandwagon. Arm and Hammer Charcoal White
was one of my favourites to come out from this trend, mainly because I love Arm and Hammer toothpaste. Another charcoal toothpaste that I had to test out was Ecodenta Extra Black Whitening Toothpaste with Black Charcoal and Teavigo
. It was so much fun using a proper black toothpaste but I am easily amused.

Both of the charcoal toothpastes left my mouth feeling clean and fresh, always a good thing when it comes to your mouth. Although, if you are looking for whitening but don’t fancy using charcoal, you could try Arm & Hammer Advance White
instead. This toothpaste will leave your mouth feeling just as clean and fresh as the charcoal ones but without the black foam and fun. One toothpaste which was all the rage at one point was Colgate Maximum Cavity Protection Plus Sugar Acid Neutraliser Toothpaste
after it made some bold claims. Did it actually work? I have no idea but my dentist didn’t complain about the state of my mouth the last time I saw her. The final toothpaste I want to share with you is Taylor’s 32 Natural Whitening Toothpaste in Fennel and Mint
. Be warned, this is not for the faint-hearted. Fennel and mint is a unique flavour that might not be for everyone. I loved it as it was something really different, my family wasn’t so sure about the taste.
