Unpopular opinion time- Breastfeeding is not my favourite activity even though it is my preferred method of feeding. I pretty much hate everything about it other than the facts that it is essentially free and I don’t have to scrub bottles 24/7. But, if you can do it, the health benefits for mother and baby outweigh the bitching that I can do on the subject. So, while you are stuck to the sofa with your womb nugget munching on your ditties, you will need some good TV to watch. Here are some of the finest shows to watch while you are busy feeding your little one.

Nailed It || Netflix
As you gaze upon your little one and think about how you will crush the other parents with your awesome parenting skills, you will probably think about meal times. I love Pinterest, it really is an amazing place to discover pretty meals and crafts. The sad thing is, you will attempt some of the pretty cakes and fail miserably. Enter Nailed It, the cooking show that takes poor bakers who love to try and gives them a chance to redeem themselves. Trust me, after this you won’t feel bad about poorly packed snack boxes.
My Dream Home || Cable & Satellite
You have probably thought about redecorating your entire house when the nesting instinct kicked in. I don’t know how far you got with yours, I got the living room done and that was it. No matter how far you got with the paintbrush, you will be taking it easy for a few months, so live through the Property Brothers until you are back on your feet. Some of the changes that they make to houses are unbelievable. They knock through walls, rip out kitchens, they do all of the things that we wish we could do but don’t have the cash.
American Playboy || Amazon Prime
Admit it, there have been certain points in your adult life when you have gone f**k it! I wonder if Hugh Hefner needs another girlfriend? Don’t worry, we have all been there at least once when our boss is giving us Hell. This series takes a look at Playboy magazine’s charismatic founder, Hugh Hefner, and his impact on global culture. Told from his unique perspective with never-before-seen footage from his private archive, discover the captivating story about the man behind the bunny.
The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell || Netflix
If you want some serious inspiration for over the top desserts, then look no further than Christine McConnell. This baking show is not for kids, and probably not suitable for busy mums because her desserts are insane! These creations require some serious man-hours but they do look awesome. If you watch it and decide that you want to tackle some of her creations between feeds, then I have good news for you. There is a cookbook that you can get that gives all of the instructions so that you can bake bad too.
The Pioneer Woman || Cable & Satellite
After dealing with the perfection of Christine and the failures of Nailed It, you must think that cooking shows are a joke or a fantasy these days. Fear not! Ree Drumond is the answer to your prayers with her simple cooking. Ree is a fellow blogger who has seen her site, thepioneerwoman.com take her cooking to new heights with her own show, books and store. In a world where healthy eating and vegan food take over our newsfeeds, it’s great to see someone using butter and meat in simple recipes that are easy to follow.
Pioneer Quest || Amazon Prime
I know you are probably reading this because you have just had a baby and are probably finding it hard. But sometimes we need so perspective on what “having it hard” is. Pioneer Quest is the show that follows two couples as they assume the lives of early settlers to the West and spend one year living as 1870s pioneers on the Canadian prairie. I’m not trying to poo-poo the baby blues or post-natal depression, they are awful, but at least we have it easier than our mothers and grandmothers.
Tidying Up with Marie Kondo || Netflix
You have probably heard about this show loads, I even wrote a post about it a while ago, so you shouldn’t be surprised that this made my list. I love the idea of only having the things that make you happy around you rather than being surrounded by crap that you don’t really want. This show is about home makeovers through the art of organisation, something every new parent hopes to master. There is even a book to go with the series that gives a more in-depth look at the methods to spark joy.
The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell intrigues me a lot, I find it very kawaii gothic is a mix that intrigues me!
I absolutely LOVE a Tidying up with Marie Kondo Show. It already improved a lot my house organization. Looking forward to watch Nailed it and My dream Home. Thank you for recommendations.
The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell is one of my favorite shows.
I would find a ton of tv shows great to watch while breastfeeding LOLOL, basically anything entertaining and taking your mind off the task at hand…
I love your honesty about breastfeeding! I agree! It was a tough thing for me too, but it was worth it! I love your suggestions, too! The pioneer woman is one of my favorites
All of these look like some really great recommends. I have not heard of some of them!
I have never been much of a TV person, after a long hard day all I want is eat dinner and go to bed, but will really have to watch pioneer quest-
I loved this! I wish I read this when I was trying to breastfeed my son! I agree breastfeeding was not my favorite last time. However watching a good tv show could have made it a little more enjoyable.
I’ve heard great thing about the Curious Creations. I keep meaning to watch it. I need to add it to my list.
