Oil me up with Eden Semilla || Scents of the Month || September 2016

Eden Semilla

September is the month when we do things like get the kids back to school and celebrate by cleaning out the house to make way for the holidays. Halloween and Christmas are just around the corner, and Starbucks have launched their famous Pumpkin Spice latte for the autumn. It’s all change this month with new stuff. So it’s not surprising then for this month I have a special Scents of the Month with Eden Semilla oils.

But before we jump into this, I have a question for you. Do you know what is really embarrassing about being me sometimes? I’m too honest. So when Eden Semilla sent me some oils to test out, I made a YouTube video first. I forgot what I had said within the first minute of filming. Then edited it and posted it. It was fine. Really. Well, for YouTube it was fine. But it was not professional at all. But when am I ever professional?

So, what happened? Well, when I was about to start filming for the day, my dogs decided to have their funny half hour in the garden. Rather than have them barking and carrying on in the background, I brought them in. That part of the plan worked and for most of the filming, they were pretty quiet. But then, just as I began filming my little video for Eden Semilla, Buffy jumped on my knee and let off the most horrific fart. It was so bad, I could taste it. As nasty as it was, I thought it was pretty fitting as I was filming “Scents of the Month”. So I left it in. But then I forgot that I had left it in, and sent the video to the guys at Eden Semilla for them to watch. Talk about feeling like a dingbat!

What did I get from Eden Semilla?

I have worked with Eden Semilla before (and you can find that here) so I was really excited when they asked if they could send me some oils. Sure, I though. Little did I realise that I would be sent so many oils! They have spoilt me rotten! I received two sets and four random oils. That’s 12 bottles of oil for me to test. It’s like Christmas has come early!

Disclaimer- Yeah yeah, I got these sent out for free to test but that has never stopped me from being honest. Seriously, re-read the first paragraph again about me being unprofessional. I have also included links to my partners at Amazon so you can buy the oils yourself. Because they are affiliate links, I get a small commission if you buy something. Happy enough? Awesome. Let’s continue with the review.

Eden Semilla Set 1

Eden Semilla

Premium Essential Oils Collection – Therapeutic Grade for Aromatherapy, Massage, Diffusers + More. Choose From 12 x Most Popular 10ml Bottles. Set 1 – Tea Tree, Rosemary, Frankincense and Lemongrass. 3 x SETS to Choose From

First off, we have set numbero uno….a collection of four different essential oils for you to have a sniff of. The bottles come in a dinky little black box that can be used as a safe way to store them. These are full sized bottles of oil so you don’t have to worry about getting a collection that only has itty bitty oils in it. You know what I mean. I bought things in the past, collections of stuff, only to discover that the collection had miniature items instead of full size. My favourite oil from this set is lemongrass but my husband is in love with the tea tree.

Eden Semilla Set 2

Eden Semilla
Premium Essential Oils Collection – Therapeutic Grade for Aromatherapy, Massage, Diffusers + More. Choose From 12 x Most Popular 10ml Bottles. Set 2 – Pine Tree, Lavender, Bergamot and Cinnamon. 3 x SETS to Choose From

This collection of oils has a real holiday feel to it. The pine tree and the cinnamon are definitely Christmas scents in my house (so I’ll be cracking them out in December when the tree goes up). The thing that I really love about getting the collections is this, you get oils that you maybe wouldn’t think of choosing. When I got this, I had no idea what bergamot smelt like, but I have discovered that I love it!

The last four oils were picked individually but you can order them as a set as well. I sure you guys have heard me yap on about how much I love the smell of oranges. On the other hand, my husband loves the smell of peppermint and eucalyptus. So, out of this set, there were three oils that we really loved and would have picked ourselves. The sandalwood was another scent that I didn’t know that I liked until I tried it in my diffuser. Even though these were random oils and not a set, when you order four oils, you still receive the little black storage box to hold them together.

The quality

These oils are all therapeutic grade oils which makes them perfect for using in an oil diffuser or to mix with a carrier oil for massages. One of the main differences with therapeutic grade oil and pure oil is the consistance. Therapeutic grade oil is very watery which is why it is easy to mix and diffuse. Pure oil is a bit thicker which is better for soaps and shower gels. One is not better than the other, they just have different uses. Overall, I am really impressed with these oils. Not only have they been of great quality and easy to use, they are doing a great job of masking the smell of stinky labradore farts.
