Cornwall is one of those areas of real beauty that everyone wants to visit once in their life. However, 2020 has thrown some real curveballs and we have to make do with some virtual fun until we can get out and about. Let’s have a virtual wander around Cornwall.

Plan a date night with a difference
Cornwall is known for a lot of things, and because it is an area of outstanding beauty, it should be easy to get into a romantic mood if you decide to visit with your other half. Stargazing is a great (and free) activity if you end up in Cornwall dating someone. I would love to pack up a picnic basket, grab some blankets, and sit on a beach to watch shooting stars flash across the sky. How amazing would that be after all of those months stuck inside? It would be worth your while wrapping up warm as the seaside at night can get really nippy. If you are going to pack up the picnic basket, you should fill it with local food and drink (more on that below).
Explore with a walk
One of the big draws of Cornwall is the walking tours that are available. These aren’t gentle walks for your granny either. Some of these are intense walks that can take days to complete. So, why would I bring these up, especially if you are wanting to get away for some couple alone time after travel restrictions have been lifted? Simple, staying healthy is one of the best things a couple can do together if you are together for the long haul. And, you never know what you will find. If you search hard enough, you’ll find Brown Willy! No, don’t be gross! Brown Willy is a place in Cornwall that is perfect for holiday photos. Nothing says I love you like a cute couple photo beside a sign that says something dirty.
Enjoy the art
I recently saw a tweet about people wanting to be rich enough to enjoy ugly art. I fully agree with them. Until such time that I am *that rich*, I will have to enjoy some pretty art instead. One of my favourite things to do with my husband is walking around an art gallery. Normally, we are child-free for this so that we can really enjoy the art we are seeing. Cornwall is packed with art galleries and plenty of art to buy so you can remember your trip. Is visiting an art gallery with your love a bit of a cliche? Maybe. But there is something magical about looking at art with someone. However, if there is one big reason for doing this it is this quote from Cesar A. Cruz (which was also used by Banksy), “Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable”. After 2020, we will all need some comfort that can only be found in the arms of a loved one while you stare at some art.
Romantic meals for two
I mentioned food and drink at the beginning when suggesting a romantic picnic on the beach while you stargaze. Thankfully, because Cornwall is used to visitors who like to sample the local cuisine, you can buy ready-made food-hampers in shops. You won’t need to put that much thought into the food because these hampers have you covered. However, if you don’t fancy getting frostbite while you look at the sky, you could go to a restaurant. There are loads of cafes and restaurants that look over the beaches, so you could sit inside for your meal but pop out for a drink and stare at the sky between courses.
