Beyond Money Practical Ways to Secure Your Family’s Future

Life is full of both predictable and unpredictable moments, so taking action to secure your family’s future is a really good idea. When people talk about securing their future, the conversation is usually about money. This is understandable and sensible, as money forms a very important part of your future security. Investments, savings accounts and pensions all have their place, but it is also important to widen your view and consider other important elements that are also going to help secure your future. When your family is built on habits, thoughtful planning and communication, you are going to feel prepared and stable now, and far into the future. Downspiral – Day Three

Down Spiral day three

They say that you should start your day with a mantra and it should reflect the goals you have in mind. For example, if you want to make a lot of money, you would say something like, “I am successful.” Or, if you are battling self-esteem issues, you should greet the day by saying, “I am worthy and I am loved.” What they don’t warn you about is the fact that if you sleep deeply enough, you will forget all of this. You sleep in and then greet the morning with a certain level of amnesia that has you believing that The Sandman spent the night tea-bagging your eyeballs so violently that a few brain cells were knocked into another dimension. If there is one thing which will guarantee a good night’s sleep, it’s a good shag at bedtime. Although, I’m pretty sure that a head injury and some hard core pain killers will do the job too, but let’s not bruise my husband’s ego with that fun fact. But here’s the truth: there’s more to the hype than powdery snow and bragging rights.

Downspiral – Day Two

Downspiral Day two

When did my second day of this challenge start? Did it start at midnight? Or did it start when I woke up in the morning? If it was the former, I had started day two on the loo while begging to whatever deity was listening to spare me. Drinking all of that water throughout the day had resulted in a lot of trapped wind and discomfort. I had cancelled the 5 am alarm when Terry had put me to bed just after 1 am with a hot water bottle. There was no way I was getting up at 5 am. I had hoped to get to 9 am before I had to deal with my little darlings but we all know that parenting rarely works this way. Shortly after 7 am, I was woken with an elbow to my stomach.
