Are they gone? Okay, ladies, this one’s for you.

When was the last time you sneezed and didn’t have to cross your legs to do it? Mmm, me too. It’s been a while. If you’ve had children, you’ll possibly be nodding along to this one! Ladies, we need to be working on not wetting ourselves when we sneeze, and for that to work out, we must be doing our pelvic floor exercises regularly. This is especially the case for you Mums out there! You could look up how much does a designer vagina cost and get yourself rebuilt by an expert surgeon – that much is true. But if you want to make sure that you are able to sneeze and laugh – oh, and cough – without dribbling, you need to tighten those muscles. They should be a part of your regular routine every day and you can do them any time, any place. Some women find it easier to practice pelvic floor routines when they are on the toilet as they can work on stopping the flow of urine. However, you can do them wherever you are! Below, we’ve got five different health issues that can be helped because of pelvic floor exercises.
Incontinence.
Ah, we mentioned the sneeze-dribble, didn’t we? But did you know that it’s actually 70% of women who have to deal with this? Losing muscle tone after childbirth is common but it’s not actually something that’s checked at the six-week check. It should be, but that’s another blog post entirely. You need to be able to feel confident and not be wearing incontinence pads before you’re 80. So, you need to pull those muscles in for five minutes every day: pull in, hold for five, relax. Then make that “hold” time go up and up until you can hold for a count of twenty. Do this in three sets of ten!
Your sex life.
Firstly, there is no such thing as a “baggy” vagina. It’s a rumour made up by little boys in school. However, if you want to increase your pleasure and chances of an orgasm during sex, strengthing your muscles is a good idea. Your orgasm quality will go right up and you will be able to feel more confident about your sex life. Regular pelvic floor exercises can help to reach those oh, oh, OH moments.
A healthy pregnancy.
The muscles in your pelvic floor help to hold up your growing baby. A loose pelvic floor can lead to a misalignment that can lead to a sore back or sciatic pain. Your body is designed to carry a healthy baby to term and it’s so much easier to do that when you are supporting and strengthening the muscles. The other thing to remember ladies is that you will feel less like peeing every time you cough after birth when you practice them! A stronger pelvic floor is a good thing for a safe, happy birth!
