10 things to do in February

Searching for culture || 10 things to do in February 2019

Have you ever wondered what to do during the month? Wonder no more, I have a list of things that you should try out this month. And because it is February, it is all about love, doesn’t matter if it is with someone or a bit of self-loving and self-care.

Because we live in a world where money is needed to survive, Latte Lindsay runs a number of affiliate programmes and offers paid/sponsored content. Fitness

The weather has been awful and everyone is probably about ready to give up on those New Years resolutions. But don’t give up! This month, grab those running shoes and hit your local Park Run for some fun with the running community. All Park Runs are free, all you need to do is register for a barcode so that you can collect your time at the end. And with the newest fitness brand, Bodytek launching their new winter training bundle, you will be looking for any excuse to show it off.

Explore

It’s too earlier to be thinking about the summer holidays but it is never too soon to think about a staycation and explore the world around you. And what could be a better way to do that than with a National Trust membership? A National Trust membership is cheap and can be paid monthly, perfect for parents who need to get out of the house with the kids and don’t want to spend a fortune on entrance fees. Plus, there are always events on at the sites for families and history buffs.

See

The weather is enough to make everyone want to stay inside, so what could be better than some TV binge-watching? As much as I love Netflix, Amazon Prime Video has loads of great shows on at the minute. The Grand Tour is back with a new series, perfect for anyone who loves cars and watching three grown men argue about cars. Or there is The Marvelous Mrs Maisel if you feel the need for some laughs and vintage flair.

Invest

Self-care should be at the top of your list and with February having Valentines Day slapped in the middle, what could be a better excuse to love yourself? It doesn’t matter if you are single or in a relationship, take some time this year around Valentines Day to love yourself. So why not relax with some bath bombs and scented candles. It’s time to invest in you and your wellbeing.

Listen

Keeping on the theme of self-care, this month I will be digging out some of my Audible favourites to help empower me. You may have seen one of the recent posts for the KappaCino Book Club 5 life-changing books for women that you need to read and it is definitely worth looking at for some inspiration. But if you can’t be annoyed checking that out, then I’ll cut to the chase. The Warrior Goddess Training Program: Becoming the Woman You Are Meant to Be is a great starting point for anyone who needs a fresh starting point for their self-care.

Experience

If you are looking to make some memories for yourself, then why not try out afternoon tea with a friend? With this February weather, there will be nothing better than pulling up a chair, eating tiny sandwiches and drinking hot tea out of pretty cups. It might not sound like much but there is something about little buns in front of a roaring fire that can warm you up in no time.

Eat

Are you sticking to your diet that you promised you would start last month or has it gone out the window? If your diet has gone out the window, then you should try The Gourmet Chocolate Pizza 7-inch Crunchy Munchy Chocolate Pizza. But if you are looking for something healthy, or non-chocolate-related, there are lots of fresh stuff that is at its best at this time of the year. Lamb, oysters and mussels are at their peak this month so don’t forget to try them out while you can.

Wear

Comfy knits and cosy boots are the order of the day with the recent cold front that has rushed in. Temperatures in February have been below freezing in many places, so dress in plenty of layers to help keep the heat in if you are out and about. This is a great excuse to try out all of those hats and gloves that you seem to collect but never really wear. Make the sidewalk your own catwalk.

Read

This month I will be reading about how to improve my writing, the next instalment of the Women’s Murder Club and celebrating the release of my own book. Yes, Newtownards in the Great War is available to buy and I’m very proud of it. Although it has absolutely nothing to do with love, self-care or anything even close, I love it. Of course, I love it, but if you fancy something a bit different from all of the romance novels and want to learn a bit of history, then buy it.

What will you be doing this February? Have you made any plans for Valentine’s Day? Let me know in the comments section below!
