January is the month of the year that we make promises to ourselves that we might not be able to keep. But it’s not a bad idea to look back and see what has gone well and what has been rubbish.

Health and Fitness
Fitness has taken a back seat recently with being heavily pregnant but I had planned on trying to run one Park Run to help get things moving. Unfortunately, the day that I wanted to do the Park Run, my husband had to work. And there was no way I was doing it by myself! Despite the pregnant belly, I was asked to become an ambassador for Bodytek and I got some kit to test out. These are really great pieces of kit. The shirt and the bag are really good quality (you can feel the difference in the fabrics) and the metal bottle is a hot and cold bottle.
Work and Income
January is normally a very quiet month income wise if you are a blogger. January 2019 was no exception. I only made £75 from sponsored posts which is a massive drop to what I am used to. But I’m not the only blogger to be hit like this. Even well-established bloggers with followings much bigger than mine have found themselves with little to no sponsored posts in January. Don’t feel bad for me, my book was finally released and was made available on Amazon. How exciting! The release was moved up from the end of the month, I had no idea that it had been moved until people started tagging me in pictures of the book. I’m not ashamed to admit that it was a completely squeaky bum moment.
Getting out and about
Between lack of funds and my massive baby belly, I didn’t get out at all. The highlight of the month was the opening of the new leisure centre in town and the closure of the old centre. From the looks of the new centre, half of the town has signed up to use the new gym and health suites. My eldest son goes to ju-jitsu and the classes have switched to the new centre so we got the chance to explore the building and new playpark while he was high-kicking with his friends.

Kids and Family
I was hoping that January would be the month that the newest arrival would make an appearance but sadly, it was not meant to be. Baby decided that she was nice and comfy and wasn’t making an appearance just yet. January was all about monitoring the end of my pregnancy and making sure that everything was moving along nicely. My due date wasn’t until February but I don’t need to tell you all about how uncomfortable it can be at the end of a pregnancy. Although my youngest didn’t make an appearance, my eldest made quite the show-stopping appearance at her school formal.

Education and self-improvement
I’m going to put my hands up and admit that a lot of my stuff has fallen to the way-side. A lot of the stuff I had planned for this month will have to be attempted at another time because cooking a human being is hard work. My main focus has been on very simple stuff but even then I have struggled to focus on anything. I have noticed that I am falling into old habits with social media and watching TV because I have been getting tired really quickly. I’m not going to beat myself up about it because I think I have a valid excuse.
No goals have been smashed for this month but the year has only started and I am seeing the results from a lot of hard work from last year. If you want to know more about the goals I have for myself and how I have been working to improve myself, check out the posts below. And don’t forget to let me know how your goals are going for this year.
Pregnancy is a beautiful thing, congratulations on the new addition
Congratulations on your adorable February baby and the release of your book on Amazon! Two amazing and extremely rewarding feat, especially the baby, am I right? 🙂
January is very hard on blogging for me too. Sponsored posts are barely there and I am lacking of income too. Well I knew it long before it will be like that but I personally hoped for better sums anyways.
Congratulations on your baby and the release of your book. Definitely things that you should be proud of and excited about!
This is so proud thing to be invited as an ambassador even during pregnancy which shows you must be really good at fitness. Congratulations on your new book and for a cute baby.
Congratulations on your book release! I’m going to check it out. Overall it seems like you had an awesome January
January is such a crazy but long month! It was fun to read about what your month looked like!
It’s ok, life goes on! What’s more important right now is the new life you are creating and caring for. That is a lot of work and already an achievement
I’ve heard Jan. is slow for bloggers too. I don’t make much cash on my site, so I haven’t noticed the rhythm, but I totally believe it.
Congratulations on your book release and for a new family member.
Yes! the slow period for bloggers indeed! Congrats on the book though, that must feel like quite the accomplishment! I can’t wait for my book to be complete (such a long process)well take care and hope your bundle of joy comes soon enough and is healthy and happy ; )
Congrats on your book and your baby, just like you my january was not that free flowing but like you said the year is just beginning and it can only get better.
Wow… I love babies. Congratulations on your baby and the release of your new book. I love the fact that you are making progress.
January is a difficult month especially after the extra costs from christmas. I am sure things will pick up in February for you.
