The Mega Edition || Empties from the Bathroom || January 2017 || Part 1

On the run up to Christmas, everyone gets a bit frantic trying to get organised. And in the chaos that was Christmas, new baby, and generally trying to get my life together, I didn’t get a chance to post as normal. My regular features had been forgotten. But it’s a new year and I’m getting myself sorted. So here is a super-massive edition of Empties from the Bathroom.

As usual, I have left links to my partner sites which are affiliate links. If you choose to buy something from them, I get paid.  Some of these items have been sent for me to test but I have given an honest opinion about them. Seriously, I’m way too lazy to sit and think of lies.

Face Mask Empties

Empties #1- Creme Shop Coconut Oil face mask

I’m a big fan of face masks and coconut oil so when I saw this, I was in love! This is a cloth face mask which uses natural coconut oil to soften and brighten your skin. Simply pop it onto your face and leave for 10-15mins, then remove the cloth part of the mask. The oil that is left on your skin will absorb into your face. You can also pop this into the fridge for that extra cooling factor.

Empties #2- Starskin Eyecatcher Smoothing bio-cellulose eyemasks

These are dinky little eyemasks for under your eyes and were great fun to use! I was able to sit and use them while I was watching TV one evening. The only problem I had with them was how they keep sliding down my face! But that was due to the amount of gel on the eye masks, they just slide everywhere! But they done a good job of reducing the bags (and suitcases) under my eyes.

Shampoo and Conditioner Empties

Empties #3 – Superdrug Anti Dandruff

At one point in the year, I noticed my scalp was getting very spotty. It was probably just pregnancy hormones but it was annoying and I kept stabbing myself with the hairbrush and taking the heads off them. So I decided to try an anti-dandruff shampoo in the hope it would work. And it did! It also left my hair super soft and shiny. As this was Superdrugs own stuff, it was cheap and cheerful too.

Empties #4 – Boots Apple Conditioner

This is my random conditioner of the month. This is the one I turned to when I had run out of conditioner from a set. It was a light conditioner that could be used every day, and with any shampoo. The smell of the apples was lovely in the shower. With this being Boot’s own brand, it was less than a pound but worked really well.

Empties # 5- Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo and Conditioner

Herbal Essences Shampoo Hello Hydration for Dry Hair, 400 ml
Herbal Essences Conditioner Hello Hydration for Dry Hair, 400 ml

This is one of my favourite Herbal Essences sets, otherwise known as the “blue one” or the one that smells like coconut. This is a great set that can be used every day to help remove the dirt and the dust of the day. It is mild enough that it doesn’t strip the hair of oils but still leaves it nice and soft. I love the smell of coconut too. And it is a nice price that won’t break the bank.

Empties #6 – L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay Shampoo and Conditioner

L’Oreal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Clay Re-Balancing Shampoo 400ml
L’Oreal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Clay Re-Balancing Conditioner 400ml

I was busting to use this one for ages but when it came to using it, I was a bit disappointed. This would be great for those of you who don’t like to wash your hair every day. I do like to wash my hair every day, so this wasn’t the best choice for me as the clay removes excess oils. It was a shame because I loved the smell, so clean!

Empties #7 – Sachajuan Ocean Mist Volume Shampoo

This shampoo was sent to me by the guys at Harley Street (oh err! Fancy!) This shampoo has to be one of the cleanest shampoos I have ever used! It left my hair so clean but soft. It done things to my hair that I can’t explain….which is a bit stupid, I know. But I will say this, the quality of this product speaks for itself. Is there an equivalent to photoshop for your hair? Because that is what it does.

Empties #8 – Mystery Beauty Shampoo

Head and Shoulders Anti-Dandruff Shampoo Classic Clean, 500 ml

Ok, so you saw the link above and know that it is Head and Shoulders. When I using it, I didn’t know that. Was I impressed? Yes, I was. Did I wish they had told us sooner? Maybe. I actually like Head and Shoulders, I’ve been using it for years. Once upon a time, this was the only menthol shampoo you could get. Although I didn’t guess what it was straight away, I did recognise the smell. So I will assume it’s the same formula that has been used for years.

Empties #9 – VO5 Nourish My Shine Shampoo

VO5 Nourish My Shine Shampoo 400 ml

I’ve mentioned a few times how I like to keep a spare conditioner in the shower, just in case my matching conditioner runs out. I also keep a random shampoo in there too. This VO5 shampoo was a massive bottle that was used from time to time. It had a nice smell and left my hair feeling clean. It was really good to team up witha good conditioner because it didn’t leave a residue in my hair.

Shower Empties

Empties #10 – Dove Go Fresh Restore body wash

Dove Go Fresh Fig Body Wash – 250 ml

I’ve tried this body wash before in a different scent, and it was ok. It was good at cleaning me and making my skin feel soft. But I wasn’t overly excited about it because of the smell. I like fruity smells when I’m in the shower, what can I say, I’m boring like that. This one had a slightly fruity smell with blue fig and orange blossom. This scent has definitely boosted my opinion of this body wash and is now one of my top choices.

Empties #11 – Dove Silk Glow body wash

Dove Silk Glow Body Wash, 500ml

Yes, this is pretty much the same as the one above but it has a different scent. Although I’m not normally singing the praises of this (because I’m not a fan of the scent, I prefer fruity stuff), I noticed something about this. It is great for after a workout. When you workout, you get sweaty. Sweat can wreck your skin and cause breakages. This helped to wash te salts and sweaty bacteria off my skin, leaving it soft and clean. This is definitely a great choice for the gym bag.

Empties #12 – Radox Feel Victorious Shower Gel

6 x 250ml Radox Feel Victorious Limited Edition Shower Gel

I have no idea what this shower gel smells like, I think the label said Victory. This was a limited edition shower gel from Radox as part of the Olympics. I only got this because it was on offer and I liked the idea of smelling like victory. I am fond of Radox shower gel and this was a nice change from my usual scents. I wish I had picked up a few more of these, there were a limited edition so I will only get my mitts on them for a wee while longer.

Empties #13 – Nuxe Prodigieux huile de douche

This was a little piece of luxury for the shower! Because it said it is a shower oil, I was worried that it would make the bottom of the bath slippy. I’m not sure how it works but it acted like an oil without making my shower feel like an ice-rink. It left a very faint shimmer on my skin, but not a lot. It looked good, not a tacky glitter effect. Despite it being a shower “oil”, it had a really good lather. It was more of a cream than an oil but it acted like an oil on your skin. Does that make sense? Probably not.

Empties #14 – Philosophy Amazing Grace bath and shower gel

Philosophy Amazing Grace Shampoo, Bath and Shower Gel – 480ml

This stuff, I have to say, I wasn’t a big fan of but for a very strange reason. When I received this in a beauty box (can’t remember which one) I lost my mind! On the bottle, it has a warning about infections in your lady garden area! I nearly lost it with laughter! Why? I mean, why would you put that on your bottle?!? Apart from the thought of this getting me a dose of the clap (or something), it was ok. The smell would be something my mum would like as she like babypowder and smells like that.

Empties #15 – Anatomicals The Buff Stuff Citrus Body Scrub

Anatomicals The Buff Stuff Citrus Body Scrub 200 ml

This was another product I wasn’t too keen on. The smell was nice, the packeting was cute but I didn’t like the beads. As far as I’m aware, the beads in this scrub are being banned from beauty products because of the impact on marine life. Fish see those little beads, think they are food and eat them. If they change the beads to a natural scrub, it will have a proper thumbs up from me.

Beauty Wipe Empties

Empties #16 – AA Skincare Tea Tree Oil and Aloe Vera bodycare cleansing wipes

These wipes were the answer to this pregnant lady’s prayers during the summer! I was so hot and felt gross, and they wipes were the best thing since sliced bread to me! Anytime I felt a bit gross and sweaty, I simply whipped out a wipe to freshen up. Although I used them as a pregnant lady, they would be useful for you guys and girls who travel. The wipes are really soft and gentle on your skin, and a must for everyone during the summer heat.

Empties #17 – Simple Skin cleansing wipes

Simple Kind to Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes, 25 Wipes

I got through make-up wipes like there is no tomorrow so I like to pick up some decent, yet cheap ones from time to time. These wipes can be found in the discount section of your local chemist or pound shop. And they are pretty decent for being a “cheap” wipe. I think these might be the older version of Simple wipes (they have a new formula) so you can pick up the “older” wipes for a fraction of the price.

Empties #18 – Superdrug Cleansing facial wipes

I’ve said this once, I’ve said it a thousand times, I am a huge fan of Superdrug and their products. These face wipes are cheap, effective, and cruelty-free. It even has the leaping bunny on the packet. And vegan and vegetarian-friendly. That ticks a lot of boxes for some people. And they actually work. We know I wear a lot of make-up so I need something that can remove the many layers of eyeliner.

Body Lotion and Talc Empties

Empties #19 – I Love….Raspberry and Blackberry body butter

I Love… Raspberry & Blackberry Nourishing Body Butter 200ml

I’m a big fan of those fruity smells so this was right up my street. This was a thick body butter which was great for the patches on your knees and elbows. The only problem I had with this was the colour that they used. If you were in a rush and threw your clothes on before the butter had melted into your skin, you could end up with a pink mark on your clothes. It did wash out but it was slightly annoying, especially as I like to plaster cream on my feet. My socks always had pink blobs on them.

Empties #20 – Rituals The Ritual of Sakura body cream

RITUALS The Ritual of Sakura Body Cream 220 ml

You have not lived until you have tried this body cream! This was thick and luxurious! the scent was amazing! It melted into your skin…I could go on and on about how this cream was amazing but I think you have gotten the idea. I absolutely loved this and will be buying from the wider range of Rituals products. I don’t normally gush like this but this was an amazing cream.

Empties #21 – Cowshed Wild Cow body lotion

Cowshed Wild Cow Invigorating Body Lotion 300 ml

I was using this on the run up to Christmas and I loved this stuff! It smelt like gingerbread (a little bit). During the winter months, when you want something for the bathroom, this is a great scent to have. It smells warm and toasty without smelling like “Christmas”. It was a good moisturiser made with essential oils, and a really nice change to the bathroom routine.

Empties #22 – Mustela Stretch Marks Prevention Oil

I am a very tough cookie when it comes to stretch mark removing claims. And this stuff got the same tough review with me. But it is amazing! I used it for most of my pregnancy and I noticed a big difference in my tummy. I still ended up with a couple of stretch marks but my skin seemed to bounce back better. Also, and I can’t work this out, it removes skin tags and moles. I had a mole in my belly button, and as I was using the oil, the mole detached itself. Seriously, one day it just popped off in my hand. It had nothing to do with friction, I decided to experiment by dabbing a bit of oil on another mole and it came away too. Removes stretch marks, moles and skin tags. Like I said, amazing!

Empties #23 – Cuticura Mildly Medicated talcum powder

Cuticura Mildly Medicated Talc 250g

If you have been here for a while, then you will know that I have a real thing for talc. This one is a medicated powder that can help with any number of skin complaints. I found this really useful near the end of my pregnancy for my skin, especially my feet. It is also great for skin that is slightly broken from rubbing. This would be really useful for anyone who runs for after their post-marathon shower.

Mouth Health Empties

Empties #24 – CB12 Mouthwash

CB12 Mild Mint Menthol Mouthwash 250ml

Everyone needs this in their life and it’s for a very simple reason. During the day, you can keep your mouth fresh with gum etc. But during the night, some people’s mouths smell like they have been tonguing the cats bum.  Gross, I know. So, if you don’t want your partner turning their nose up at your morning kisses, use this. Trust me, no-one likes morning breath and this will stop that weird smell from appearing. Simply brush your teeth and use this before bed and everyone will be thankful.
