My Mood Stars Board
The board is a bright red colour that really catches the eye. The little yellow stars really pop against the red colour of the board, making it easy to use. Each of the little stars have a cute expression stitched on it. When I started using it with the kids, they were excited to have something that would help them explain how they were feeling. Up to this point, they would have seen things like this at school so the concept was not strange. My Mood Stars Board comes with a book to help explain the stars and the meanings behind the stars. Each star is easy to handle and a great size for little hands. The stars stick to the board with little velcro dots which allows them to move and be used over and over again.
Blue Bagoo Book
The sooner we get that love of reading instilled, the better! This book is filled with bright colours and a cute story. BEWARE the Blue Bagoo! Join in with the detective who is on the trail of a mysterious blue creature in this fun picture book! A detective tries to uncover the truth about the infamous “Blue Bagoo”—a creature so big and scary that it can’t possibly be made up, can it? Our detective addresses us—the reader—on the very first page, and then walks the winding cobbled streets of a Dr. Suess–esque seaside town, taking statements from the residents. The Blue Bagoo proves elusive, but rumours of its “supposed” qualities have spread throughout the town. However, as the investigation proceeds, there is a critical twist… This is a tale of rumours and fears, that also teaches us a gentle lesson about jumping to conclusions and judging others!
Shelf Care
When it comes to book clubs, there aren’t many that promote positive mental health in children. This is where Shelf Care Book Club comes in. Each month, members get access to a heap of free stuff. For a start, they are giving away free 3-month subscriptions to the Readly app to some lucky members of the club. This app is a digital magazine subscription which has thousands of magazines and lots of Disney magazines too! They will pick the winners randomly each month, and let them know via email.
