Let’s Go! || Back to Fife

Summertime is nearly over but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy a trip around the country instead of jumping on a plane. Now that travel restrictions have lifted slightly, we can jump in the car for a road trip. This time we are heading back to Fife.

On yer bike

One of the best ways to discover a place is on foot but that can be tough if you want to cover a big distance. As part of everyone’s daily exercise for the last few months, a lot of people dusted off their old bikes and had a peddle around the street. This was great when everyone was off work because there was no traffic on the road to distract you. Fife has a lot of cycling events to help keep you on your bike, even after things go back to normal. You can even test your skills out on the Fife Cycle Park with the family and get everyone on their bikes.

Markets and Fairs

Small businesses were hit really badly during lockdown so it’s great to see markets and fairs starting up again. Farmers’ markets and art fairs are some of the best ways to discover new businesses that would slip through the cracks of your Google search. There is something to be said for shopping and looking locally for what you need. That’s why sites like www.datefifesingles.co.uk exist, to help connect local people to each other. If you do head out to one of the fairs, please remember that social distancing is still being enforced in a lot of places and to be respectful of other people sharing the space with you.

Drive-in cinema

I’m not going to lie, I hate going to the cinema these days. I don’t have an issue paying money for a ticket but I have a huge issue with the company around me. People talking or kicking your seat as they move behind you. I hate to be the glass half full person in the middle of a pandemic, but the introduction of drive-in cinemas has been amazing! You don’t have to worry about people spotting you having a snog if you meet someone from a Fife dating site, you can have a snog in the privacy of your car at the Pratis Drive-In cinema. Plus, you can bring as many snacks as you want and don’t have to worry about the crunching from other people.

Walkthrough the museums

When the doors were locked on a lot of the world’s buildings, the museums of the world decided to shake things up by offering virtual tours around them. As wonderful as that was, it’s just not the same as wandering through a great art exhibition. There is something magical about seeing a painting with your own eyes that is lost through a computer screen. St Andrews Museum and various galleries are opening their doors again and opening up new exhibitions to the public again. I can’t wait to see those beautiful pictures in the flesh (or colour) again.
