5 Ways to Make Your Bedroom Cosier this Autumn || Sarah Bailey

make your bedroom cozy in autumn

While we may not want to believe it, autumn is here, the weather is getting cooler, the heating is being turned on and jumpers are becoming our go to items to keep ourselves warm.

Of course, now is a good time to get your bedroom feeling all cosy for those cold nights that are headed this way and here are 5 ideas to make your bedroom feel just a little more inviting on a cold night.

Chunky knitted, large and fluffy, the choice is yours. However, there is no denying that a blanket is not only going to keep you warmer, but make your room look cosier come the colder months. After all there is nothing like curling up under one, with a good book while you wait to drift off.

Personally, I love candles, but not particularly in the bedroom, too much risk of me falling asleep with them still alight. So, to bring different scents into my bedroom this year I have the Scentsy Go, a system that runs on a rechargeable battery and uses a fan to disperse fragrance. It even turns itself off after around 4 hours, making it perfect for use in the bedroom.

One thing that for me really makes a difference to the cosiness of a room is lighting. I find that overhead lighting is often stark and overbearing, so switching it out for lamps gives a much softer feel. If you want to take this a step further you can even look to add fairy lights around the room, which can add a feature as well as light.

Colour Choice

Have a think about the colour choices you use in the room, deep hues such as plum, deep red and forest green can bring in a warm cosy feeling. However, if that isn’t up your street mixing darks with lights can add a cosy feeling.

Embrace Textures

From blankets, to duvets and rugs to cushions, the textures you use in the room can make all the difference. Don’t be afraid to play around with different textures till you find the ones that seem perfect for you.

So there are 5 ways to make your bedroom cosier this autumn, what do you think of these ideas, am I missing anything you would choose to do?
