The cold nights are coming back and it is getting dark outside. Even though the bars are open again, some people are not ready to head out again. With this in mind, you might be thinking about staying in a bit more rather than face the rain on a cold night out. Don’t worry, I got you. I’m not ready for going outside with people yet either (especially if it involves being in the rain). So, if you want to chill out inside with me, here are some of the best streaming services to bring the cinema experience into your living room.

Netflix
If there is one streaming service that has become a staple in most people’s homes, it is Netflix. What started off as a DVD service has grown into a multi-billion dollar industry and it shows no sign of stopping. The biggest drive to Netflix is the original content that they are constantly creating. These Netflix exclusives made sure that people signed up and stayed subscribed. Now, over 40% of the content on the platform is original programming. Unlike a lot of other platforms, you get access to the entire Netflix library and don’t have to pay any extra for new releases.
Prime
If you have Amazon Prime for your online shopping, you could use the Prime TV option to watch movies. It is kind of surprising how many people don’t know that this is part of the Prime service. Like Nteflix, Prime has a ton of original programming now, but it is small compared to the Netflix library. There is an option to rent or buy movies online as part of Prime which can give you access to a lot more options. Of course, you can stick with the free options, and there is still plenty to choose from.
Disney+
Disney+ stormed into the online streaming world and changed how things were done. Not only do you have access to every Disney movie that has ever been made, plus all of the Marvel movies, they have teamed up with other streaming services to give a range of content. As part of their Covid-plan, they introduced Premiere Access as a way to ensure that their movies continued to hit our screens instead of having to wait on a cinema release. This has caused some friction as movies have been launched that should have been in the cinema (ScarJo and the Black Widow release is a prime example). Despite some of the flaws, they are doing a great job of giving us a diverse range of content.
Apple TV
One of the lesser known of the streaming services but it is a good one. Admittedly, I only took the Apple TV as part of my Apple purchase (I got six months free when I bought my last iPhone) and it has turned out to be really good. The content is still growing and it is generally more grown-up content that you will find. Original series such as The Morning Show and Defending Jacob have been a huge draw, however, Tom Hanks is working on a lot of content with them too. Expect to see this platform grow with time as their main focus appears to be on original programming.
