Today we are going to take a look at how you can host an amazing open house at home this year and help sell your home quicker. Opening up your home to viewers is a great way to meet new people and prospective buyers, and answer any questions and queries directly. Here are some of the things you need to do to host a great open house.

Be welcoming

It is so important whether you are renting or selling to cash buyers for houses that you are friendly and welcoming to all who visit. When someone is looking to buy a home from you, it is important for you to make a good impression on them because otherwise, they won’t want to buy your home. Be friendly, be open with questions, and smile!

Keep it clean

When hosting an open house to showcase your home, it is very important that your home stays clean and tidy. This means getting rid of any clutter that might be lingering around the house and ensuring that absolutely everything is spotless. Your home needs to look its best here so make sure that everything is in its place and hide anything you don’t want out on show. For an extra touch, light a few cookie scented candles and this will give people an amazing aroma as they enter the home.

Make simple foods

It is important when you are hosting an open house to add some easy snacks to a table for people to grab along the way. These simple ideas will add a lovely spread that people will love.

Roast beef sandwiches

Simple and tasty, these can be made in batches and you can place mini ones out for anyone who visits.

Ingredients:

  • Roast beef slices
  • Thick white bread
  • Dijon mustard
  • Butter

Spread some butter and mustard onto each slice of bread, add your beef, cut into triangles!

Chicken tikka wraps

Ingredients:

  • 2 chicken breasts, sliced into thin strips
  • 1 tbsp Tandoori seasoning
  • 100ml yoghurt
  • 1 handful mint
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 tomato
  • Tortilla wraps

Season the chicken with tandoori seasoning and pan fry in oil for 4 minutes on each side until crispy.
Mix mint and yoghurt in a bowl to make a cooking mint yoghurt.
Chop and deseed your tomato and cucumber.
Layout a wrap, add some chicken, then tomato and cucumber, and your mint yoghurt. Optionally add some mango chutney here.
Wrap up and cut into 4 pieces per wrap. Lay it out on a platter.
