Getting the vibe of your house right is not an easy task. One of the best ways to make it feel like a home is by changing the lighting in your house. Sometimes it takes you to completely change the lights to make the space feel like your own. This is why I am pleased to have teamed up with Elesi Lighting to review their range of fixtures and lights.

That is a pretty comprehensive About Us section. What I will add to this is that the customer service is fantastic! While this collaboration was being organized, I was in the middle of moving house. The emails slipped under my radar at one point but the people I was speaking to were fantastic and understanding. There are not many companies that have the patience to deal with people like this.
What did I choose?
If you have looked at the Elesi Lighting website, you may have realised that the lights are on the pricey side. As much as we would all love to dump on the prices from a great height, it is clear that the price is reflected in the quality. The items that I picked were one of the Cambridge antique gold dome pendants and three of the Denman cone pendants. This is because the house I have just moved into has a lot of light fixtures. The landing/stairs/hallway area needs four lights alone! So, with this in mind, I choose the three cone pendants (I’m getting a flat version for light number four because of where it is). I could have blown my entire budget on one light (and I was tempted to) but decided on choosing a few pieces.
When the box arrived with the lights, I was shocked by the quality of the packaging materials. That might seem odd but you can tell a lot about a company by how they package your items. This was some premier cardboard boxes with high-quality tape. Every item was securely wrapped to ensure it arrived in one peice. I honestly believe that that box could have fallen off the back of a lorry and would have survived the fall. As I opened the boxes, the quality of the items was clear. These are hardwearing and well-crafted items. Just by the weight and the feel of them in your hands, you can tell that these are amazing of quality. This is one of those cases where you get what you pay for applies.
How did it go?
First of all, it goes without saying that you need someone who knows electrics. Do not attempt to fit these lights (or any electrics) if you don’t know what you are doing. Thankfully, my husband has a decent level of handyman knowledge and was able to fit them for me. Each light came with a set of instructions but they are very basic. The main focus of the instructions was how to adjust the fabric lighting cable in order to get the pendant to the desired height. There is a huge length of cable with each light. It is also important to note that the lights need a certain bulb, in the case of the cone pendants, they need E27 bulbs. Thankfully, these are easy to buy online.
Overall
The Elesi Lighting range is beautiful and I was so pleased that they asked me to work with them. Honestly, if they had allowed me, I would have kitted the whole house with their stuff because it is gorgeous! If the lights they send me were anything to go by, then the rest of the range on the is amazing too. Once the lights were hung up, they completely changed how the house looked. I love the vintage lightbulb that my husband picked up for the bedroom years ago, so getting to pop these vintage bulbs around the house with proper lights is incredible. We do need to touch up the plaster around the ceiling rose (it’s an old house) but apart from that, I’m over the moon with the final result.
