Sleep well
The first step you can take that will make getting regular workouts easier is to make sure you get a good night’s sleep. Yes, that’s right if you have slept well the night before you are much more likely to feel able to hit the gym. Of course, there are some other reasons that the right amount of sleep will help make exercise easier too. In particular, it’s that our muscles tend to repair themselves as we rest, and by ensuring we get enough shut-eye, we can not only feel better but see better gains as well.

Quit smoking
You can also make working out a lot easier by quitting no-so-good-for-you habits like smoking. After all, smoking creates all sorts of problems in the body including a decrease in available oxygen that impacts physical endurance. Put simply, if you smoke it’s much harder for your body to exercise. Happily, giving up smoking isn’t all about going cold turkey anymore. Instead, there is a range of options available such as nicotine replacement therapy that comes in patches, lozenges and sprays.

Then there are vape pens that can be filled with liquids. The great thing about this option is that it provides a more genuine smoking experience, but without the nasty chemical in cigarettes. The e-liquids that can be used with vape pens also come in a range of refreshing flavours, and you can even slowly reduce the amount of nicotine in them, helping you quit in a much less stressful way.
Use the power of your mind
The thing about our mind is that sometimes it can work for us, and sometimes against us. That means to succeed at doing exercise more regularly we need to find a way to harness the power of the mind. Happy there are several ways in which we can do this. The first is to now allow our minds objections to the space to breathe. This means packing your gym bag the night before, arranging to work out with a friend so you can’t skip a session.
Secondly, it can be very useful to remind yourself that you do not have to work out at all. Instead, you are choosing to work out. Indeed, this simple distinction can help make going through with a more challenging activity that much easier.

Finally, you can make sure that in your mind, the scales are tipped towards making exercise a more positive experience. This may entail choosing an activity that is fun like dance or biking instead of gym work and downloading the latest box set or podcast to help make your exercise session feel more enjoyable.
