Being happy and healthy should be top of your to-do. However, the world that we live in makes it hard despite having unlimited options to achieve this. So what can you do to become more happy and healthy? Here are a few starting points to help you along your way.

Work out a good skincare routine
Having a good skincare routine might not seem like the most important thing in the world but hear me out. Your face and your skin is one of the first things that people notice about you. If you have breakouts or dry patches, people will notice and this can impact your self esteem. Another thing to remember is that skin breakouts, whatever type they are, can be uncomfortable. Sometimes down right painful. It is important that you stick to your routine to get the most from it. Figuring out what works for your skin type will make you feel better about yourself in more ways than one.
Use sunscreen every day
We all know how damaging the sun can be. Even a cloudy day can cause damage to your skin that you can’t see. There are two reasons why I recommend wearing sunscreen everyday (or protecting your skin in some way). The first is skin ageing. Repeated sun exposure can damage your skin and make you look older than you are. Not the worst thing when you are in your twenties, but in your forties, it’s a different ball game! The second is that repeated damage of your skin can cause skin cancer. Always get moles checked out and be careful in the sun. And please, avoid using sunbeds. I know we all love a bit of holiday glow in the middle of winter but it isn’t worth it in the long run.

Look after your teeth
This falls under the same thing as your skin. Your teeth are part of your first impression. You don’t have to spend thousands of pounds getting them perfect, starting with basic care is a must. Invest in a decent toothbrush and toothpaste, don’t forget to floss (your teeth not the dance), and use a mouthwash. You should also see a dentist every six months for a check up and get any issues dealt with quickly. I spent 13 years living in pain because of my wisdom teeth, do not put off dealing with dental pain. Trust me, dental pain is the worst! It’s also important to note that oral care is linked to heart health. Yes, it’s true, looking after your teeth also means that you are looking after your ticker too.
Eat clean
What you put into your body will have a massive impact on your overall health and happiness. Putting good quality food in your belly will make you feel 100 times better. This is because a lot of the food we eat is filled with sugar and additives. Being more mindful of what you are eating will make you feel better. As you change your diet, you will notice that you are sleeping better, have more energy, and have less tummy troubles.
Of course, there are plenty of other things that you can do to become more happy and healthy. Hopefully these ideas will give you a starting point to get the ball rolling.
