Confidence is something that can come and go at any time, and change is often the result of things that we experience on a daily basis. Dealing with a lot of stress, for example, can severely damage your confidence – while accomplishing something can raise it. If you’ve lost your confidence and are having a hard time reclaiming it, then here are some tips that can help you to work towards it again. It’s not always going to be an instant change, and working on your confidence can take time before you’re feeling great again – but it’s possible for everyone to make that change. You shouldn’t have to live with a lack of confidence forever.

Adjusting your mindset
A lot of the time, the lack of confidence is coming purely from how you’re thinking about things. If you’re being held back by your own thoughts, that’s something you need to change internally. Problems with insecurities, doubts, and otherwise, are things that you need to actively challenge with positivity while making the effort to ignore them and proceed with the things that you want to do. Stop backing out of things that you’re afraid of and give yourself the chance to prove your thoughts wrong. The more you do, the more you can do, and the more you’ll be able to show yourself that there’s nothing to worry about.
Making a change
If your confidence is being caused by something that you can’t overcome, instead you should be looking at what you can change to solve that. Problems with appearance can be very challenging at times, and while acceptance is most likely the way to go, some may opt for cosmetic treatments. For example, see this plasma pen before and after samples to see what you could expect from the treatment.
A lot of the time, issues with your own appearance are irrational, and others will likely not notice what it is that you have a problem with.
Fake it until you make it
It might not sound like a great tip, but faking your confidence until you have the chance to see why it’s irrational can be very helpful. As mentioned before, if you often shy away from opportunities because you’re afraid of failure, then you’re likely never going to get the chance to challenge your doubts. Your confidence isn’t going to come back on its own, and you should be actively working to bring it back.
Give yourself more credit
A lack of confidence can be caused by how you treat yourself, and often we are far too harsh when providing self-criticism. If you find that you’re being a little unfair with your own judgements, it’s time to make a change. Would you criticise your friends the same way? Why should you expect any more from yourself than you would from others? While we’re all special in our own way, that’s no reason to hold yourself to a higher standard, nor be cruel when thinking about your mistakes.
