After the recent success of me going to London for the VLM and not dying in the process, I’m excited to start travelling. It may be short, it may be far, I don’t know. But what I do know is that I plan on exploring. The thing is, in other to explore, you need to have some sort of idea where you are going. Today, I’m looking at Bedfordshire and what you can do there.

For animal lovers
If there was ever a place for animal lovers, it’s in Bedfordshire. Not only is there the ZSL Whipsnade Zoo, there is a Woburn Safari Park too. These two places let you see some of the most beautiful creatures from around the world. But if you don’t like the thought of walking on the wild side, there is Thurleigh Farm and adventure playground. Although this might seem like it’s for families, Bedfordshire singles can enjoy the tearoom for a quiet afternoon too.
Take to the sky
Who knew that dating in Bedfordshire could be so exciting! If you fancy something a bit different, try one of the many air experiences. Bodyflight in Bedford is one of the most popular indoor skydiving tunnels in the UK and was used as a location for the 2008 James Bond movie. Or you can relax with a gliding experience with the London Gliding Club and coast over the countryside.
A little bit of history
There are plenty of places for a history geek to get their freak on in Bedfordshire. The Shuttleworth Collection is an amazing collection of aircraft that would inspire anyone to think of days gone by. The De Gray Mausoleum would be of interest for anyone who likes their Bedfordshire dating to be a bit on the darker side. If you are looking for something from an earlier time period (but less morbid) then check out Warren Abbey Vineyard. The monks of the Abbey planted the vineyard back in 1135 and is the only vineyard in Bedfordshire.
Waterways
A day out wouldn’t be complete without a trip on the water. Take a trip down to the British Waterways Priory Marina and have a relaxing time by the water. There is also the Danish Camp Riverside Visitor Centre where you can take a bike ride or a walking tour. The best part about this place? Food is served all day so there is no chance of getting hungry after a spot of bird spotting. If fish are your thing, then head to Tingrith Coarse Fishery and try to catch the biggest fish in the lake. But make sure that you have an appointment before you head down with your rod and worms.
What do you guys think? Is there anything else you can think of that would make a good day out? I get to take my family out for these trips but if you fancy meeting up with people from your area to spend the day with, check out some of the free dating websites the internet has to offer. And don’t forget to tell me about your favourite days out in the comments.
