The first few days and weeks after you start blogging, you have hundreds of ideas pouring from your fingertips. But like many things, this will eventually dry up. It’s frustrating, especially if you’ve never done a lot of writing before, and it can harm your momentum and motivation. As quickly as you built a blog audience, you may see it disappear as they don’t have anything to read. So how can you overcome writer’s block as a blogger? Here are five tips to try.

Update Old Posts
You might not be able to think of anything new to write, but this doesn’t mean you can’t go back and clean up old posts. Things could have changed significantly since you last posted other stories or other blogs, so go through and make changes where appropriate. These changes could be small spelling or grammatical improvements, or you might want to add to your blog posts to go into further depth about what you wrote about, giving your readers an update.
Change Your Scenery
Ask any writer how they usually get over writer’s block, and they will tell you they get a change of scenery. It’s no use sitting at your desk all day trying to write something when it’s just not coming. So, you may as well get outside, go somewhere else, and reset your brain to help you get over your block. Going for a walk or exercising can flood you with inspiration and help you work through things that have been getting in your way, allowing you to get back to your computer and write all night long.
Check Out Trending Topics
You don’t need to find the inspiration within. Sometimes, it’s okay for you to see what other people are saying and get involved. Check out trending topics to see what other bloggers are discussing right now and add your two cents. You don’t always need to offer brand new insight that no one has thought of before; now and then, it’s okay to insert yourself into existing conversations, as long as you don’t just repeat what others have said.
Set Up a Content Calendar
If you want to avoid writer’s block in the future, set up a content calendar for your blog and social media posts so you always have something to say. This content calendar will give you something to write every week, and you can reference it if you’re ever stuck for content. Many companies and solo bloggers will write about specific events or holidays that happened in the past on this day, so look up interesting historical events you may be able to talk about.
Fix Computer Issues
It might not be that you’re experiencing proper writer’s block. You could be frustrated because your computer isn’t allowing you to write as much as you want. If your computer is slowly running, you can carry out troubleshooting to get it back to its best. This will avoid random crashes or other frustrations that can interfere with your creative process.
Unblocked
Writer’s block is frustrating. It seems no matter how hard you try, you cannot get words onto the page. If you feel like you’re devoid of inspiration, these tips should help you unblock the problem. Soon enough, you’ll have ideas abound pouring from your fingertips yet again.
