About the Book

About the Author
Author Heba Hamzeh was born in Beirut, Lebanon and her family was forced to leave when she was young due to devastating civil war and social unrest. Her background permeates the books – both with the influence of middle-eastern myth and imagery and the message that we need more peace and cooperation if we are to live together. Her three children are the inspiration for her career as a writer. The Prince Zaaki stories began as bedtime tales that grew and developed over the years alongside her children. Although Heba is originally from Beirut, Lebanon, she grew up in Hertfordshire, taught mathematics at an international school for many years and now lives in London.
Thoughts on the book
This is another great book series that my kids have loved. My 11 year old loved reading these stories as they were very different from what is normally geared towards his age group. As he was reading these, he felt that they were closer to the fantasy worlds of D&D, Warcraft, and other fantasy worlds. When I asked him if he would read more of the series, he said yes (you don’t get much higher praise from an 11 year old boy). All in all, he really enjoyed the story and believed that his dad and myself would enjoy them too.
