Lots Of Empty Space In Your Home? Easy Ways To Fill It Up

We all have those empty corners in our homes that make the whole house feel a bit too spacious. Sure, there’s a lot of furniture in the middle of the living room, but the hallway is nearly bare, and the kitchen has barely anything to work with! And in the moments when we notice this, it’s best to make a plan to fill them with fun trinkets and cool decorations, and that’s what we’re here to help with. Feel free to take our suggestions below into account in order to make your home feel more lived-in and cosy than ever before by filling up some of that empty space in your home.

Fit in Functional Storage

Functional storage, such as desks, sideboards, and occasional tables, are all good fits for those empty walls and corners. The more you can fill the space, and then have spaces within to fill up with novelty items, vases, and trinkets, the more personality your home will have as a whole. Plus, it’s pretty fun going on a shopping spree to fill up those shelves!

Place Plenty of Greenery

Greenery is one of the best things to outfit your home with. Why? Because it looks good, it smells good, and it helps to keep the air clean – what more could you ask?! So be sure to place a few pots and plants around and push them into the corners. The taller the plant the better, but it’s much cheaper to buy a bud, give it enough room to grow, and then let it climb up over the next few months. Just remember to water on a regular basis!

Don’t Forget About Blank Walls

Blank walls are the bane of the home owner’s existence. They stick out like a sore thumb and it’s hard to find items to hang up that fit with the rest of the decor! But it’s not impossible. You just need to try thrifting for art that’s a little ‘out there’, completed by local artists or small names from times one by.

You can bet these pieces will be unique and have something real to add to your space. Portraits, landscapes, crazy patterns, tapestries, embroideries, flags, giant posters – the possibilities are truly endless.

Provide Places to Lounge

The more you can sit down and just lounge for a bit, the more cosy your home will feel. Yes, that means you need a chair in the hallway! Somewhere you can sit down whilst putting your shoes on or checking your look in the mirror before heading out.

And if you’ve got an upstairs hall that’s a bit empty, put one there as well. It could end up becoming your reading nook on cold evenings; hang a floor lamp over one shoulder and place a small table next to it and you’ve got the perfect space!

Empty space in your home is something you don’t have to battle for long. Use ideas like these to fill up your living room, bedroom, or kitchen and make it much more fit for use.
