Springtime is just around the corner and that means that everyone is thinking about making some improvements to their home. But what changes can you make that will transform your home? I have some ideas that I would love to do.

Circle beds
The square is out and the circle is in! I don’t know why but I have seen a lot of circle beds appearing in my newsfeeds. And they look awesome! Maybe I’m just a sucker for something unusual but they look amazing. There is something very comforting about circles (or is that just me?) so it makes sense that a bed is a circle. One of the biggest benefits of a circle bed is there are no sharp corners to bash your feet off. Of course, they are not cheap as they need a custom mattress. If you don’t mind forking out that extra bit of money for a mattress, you might find a circle bed on your local marketplace or estate clearance.
High back chairs
I’m not going to lie, I fell in love with high backed chairs in Ikea after I needed a wee sit down one day. However, the one in particular that I love is the wingback chair. I honestly don’t know why but as I sat in the chair, I knew I could never go back. The reason for this is the shape of the chair cocoons you. As I sat there, I could see myself chilling in the living room with my cross-stitch, the fire glowing up the room, and a feeling of relaxation. Of course, these are not for everyone. My husband wasn’t as impressed as I was as he sat in the chair but he was impressed that a chair could have a calming effect on me.
Phonebooth
This is a strange one but hear me out. Do you have a landline? A lot of people do and kind of hate it. I get it, it isn’t fun answering the phone to discover a sales pitch at the other end. But, a lot of my friends and family like to call me on my landline. There is something nostalgic about twirling the cord of the phone while you natter about the state of the world. Plus, when someone is being a pain, you have the added bonus of being able to slam down the reciever. Phone Booths are a way to take the landline and phone to another level. What I really like about them is the door. Not only can you have a conversation in private, but you can also have a little lock on the door to stop your toddler from phoning the fire brigade.
China cabinet
If you are like me, you have probably a collection of mugs that don’t match but you don’t have the heart to get rid of them. Honestly, I have mugs with chips but I love them because they hold a special memory for me. Also, I have a habit of rewarding myself with a new mug when I hit a milestone for something. Don’t ask me why, it’s my thing. I’ve been saying this for a while but I would love a china cabinet to house all of my mugs and teapots. Having them all in one place that they can be displayed would be amazing because some of my cups are beautiful. Plus, my late-nanny gave me a china tea set for my wedding and I would love somewhere safe to keep it.
Mirrors
Mirrors come and go with the trends but this is one I would love to see stay. Mirrors are a great way to throw natural light around your home. Some people think it is awfully narcissistic having a lot of mirrors but the finest piece of art you can have in your home is your own face. Yes, you are beautiful and you deserve to look at that beautiful face of yours. Don’t be afraid to play with mirrors and move them around until you find places that you like them. I like to have a mirror in my hallway for those last-minute checks as you head out the door.
And there you have it, some furniture that I would love to pop around my house this spring. What home improvements would you like to see around your home this year? Let me know in the comments what furniture you need in your home.
