Halloween is coming and the goose is getting fat! That can only mean one thing, it’s October! To celebrate my favourite time of the year, I’m taking part in Blogtober.

What’s your favourite autumnal scent?
At the risk of sounding basic, it has to be winter spices. There is something so warming about cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger that provide so much comfort. I’m not fussy about how the scent is delivered, wax melts, candles, baking, or favoured coffee.
Do you prefer: pumpkin pie or apple pie?
I’ve never had pumpkin pie (shocking, I know) so apple pie wins by default.

What’s the one autumnal tradition that you have?
I’m a Halloween all year round kinda gal, but I make sure that I’m dressed up in my finest spooky clothes every day, I like to have a bath every day (time and bath products permitting), but I make sure that I bake and cook as much as possible.
What are you planning on dressing up as for Halloween?
I really want to shave my head and go as Uncle Fester from the Addams Family this year! A few years ago, I dressed up as Jessie Pinkman from Breaking Bad, my husband was Walter White.

What are you most excited for about autumn?
Getting to dress like a weirdo and nobody looks at me funny! I love autumn, the changing of the leaves, the crisp air with sunshine. Love it all.
What’s your favourite scary movie?
Oh, come on! That’s like asking me which one of my children is my favourite! But, if I had to choose, anything in the Tim Burton area is good viewing for this time of the year. They have a spooky vibe without being really scary. The horror movie that haunts me is Insidious. I swear, I didn’t sleep for a week after that one!
What is your favourite Halloween sweet treat?
Anything with “winter spices” in it. Give me a Pumpkin Spiced latte from Starbucks and some spiced fruit bread, I will be in heaven.
Favourite item that’s pumpkin spiced?
It has to be the Starbucks latte. I’ve tried a lot of different pumpkin spiced coffees and this one is the best. Although, Yankee Candle does a fantastic candle that will give you a great pumpkin spice fix when you can’t get out.
What is your warmest autumnal memory?
I love being out in nature in the autumn and then coming home to a warm house for some creamy coffee. I do this a lot so I have plenty of memories like this.
What is your favourite autumn must have?
Wool. So random but just hang tight. Being crafty is becoming more popular, more people want to create stuff. Even if you can only knit a square, loads of little squares make a blanket. There is something so rewarding about sitting in front of the fire, knitting away, knowing that you will have something cozy that will keep you warm for many winters.
