Strathclyde is a large area on the west side of Scotland that I have been lucky to visit several times over the course of my life. So why not take an imaginary road trip in your mind with me and plan out your next day trip?

M&D’s theme park
I’m not gonna lie, this theme park is just a quick boat ride away for me, and I’ve never been there! When I was a teenager, my friends used to make an annual trip over there and I was never allowed to go because my parents thought I would get up to no good! In fairness, they weren’t wrong. So, what’s my excuse now that I’m an adult? I don’t have one. Maybe this would be the perfect time to suggest a Strathclyde dating day to my husband? We could go on rides, eat rubbish, and live out part of his misspent youth again. I just hope he doesn’t mind starting out on the little kid’s rides first because I’m terrible on rollercoasters and I have to build my way up to go on the bigger ones. At least he will hold my hand when I scream my lungs out because that is what true love does.
Museums
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that museums are on my list of things to do for a day date idea, but if you are surprised by this little fact, you should check out my history book (shameless plug!). Seriously though, I love going to museums and Strathclyde is packed with them! I would be spoilt for choice! Some of my favourites are the Scottish Mask and Puppet Centre which is a combined museum, theatre, and workshop. Or the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum which has been a Glasgow favourite since 1901, with 22 themed galleries and an incredible 8,000 objects to explore, plus the building is absolutely beautiful. Just sitting on the grounds with a picnic would be super romantic day date.
Cinema or a show?
If there is one thing that I didn’t think I would miss, it’s the cinema. I love watching movies, and I love the immersive experience of the cinema (the massive bucket of popcorn is a bonus) but I hate being other people in the cinema. Strange I know, be we have all had those terrible experiences where someone has answered their phone or talked LOUDLY the entire movie. I feel that is something that you would need to specify on a Strathclyde dating site, “no cinema dates, I hate sharing the theatre with other people”. It is a shame that other people can ruin it because Strathclyde has some cracker cinemas to choose from that are perfect for date night.
Gamers get busy
My not-so-inner nerd is going to show here, but have you ever considered spending an entire day in a game arcade? It always seemed like a real American thing to do in the ’80s and ’90s but they have fallen out of fashion as home gaming has gotten more affordable and accessible. But if you have a desire to head into the past and spend the day popping coins into gaming machines, R-CADE has you covered. Admit it, everyone probably fancied heading to the arcade after watching Stranger Things. This might be everyone’s cup of tea, but for me, this would be a day date with a difference that I wouldn’t forget in a hurry.
