The Beauty Edit || November 2018

the beauty edit || November 2018

I swear, I blinked and it was November. It’s hard to believe that it is nearly Christmas and then the New Year will be upon us! So, with this in mind, let’s have a look at some of the beauty and skincare products I have been using recently that might be helpful over the holiday season for a number of reasons.

Because we live in a world where money is needed to survive, Latte Lindsay runs a number of affiliate programmes and offers paid/sponsored content. If you choose to click the links and read the posts, the site may  earn a commission or receives a payment. All of the opinions are my own.

Simple Skincare Wipes

Simple Facial Cleansing Wipes

With the party season nearly upon us, now would be a time to stock up on face wipes. Why? Simple *tee hee* they are handy for when you come home late and can’t be bothered to remove your makeup. Simple wipes are gentle enough for sensitive skin and remove a lot of your makeup. Obviously, they aren’t as good as using a face wash, cleanser, toner, and moisturiser but who has time for all of that at 3 am after shots and a cheesy chip?

Hydro Face Mask

Vitamasques – Hydro Face

Is it just me or does the winter dry your skin out too? I’m not sure if it is the cold weather combined with the heating of our homes but my skin ends up wrecked! This is one of the popular sheet masks that will help to hydrate your skin and leave it soft again. These types of masks can be life (or skin) savers during the weather so it is definitely worth your while getting a few in for over the colder months.

Colgate Total

Colgate Total Daily Repair Toothpaste

Seeing as we are on protect and repair binge, let’s look at the teeth as well. I am a big believer in good oral health and will test out anything that will help protect my pearly whites. Let’s face it, we only get one set of adult teeth. This toothpaste was pretty good and the dentist did say my teeth were looking nice and healthy so this is one that you might want to consider using.

Nail Varnish Remover

Nail polish remover is one of those things that I don’t see a point of spending big money on. This was a huge bottle that only cost me a pound in the local pound shop, and it done the job. It was nothing fancy, it did smell a bit, and it did sting if there was a raggy nail. But for a pound, I couldn’t be bad to it. It was even good at removing the gel top coat that I like to use so it is powerful stuff.

Handwash

Strawberry Laces|| Bubble Gum || Love Hearts || Magical Unicorn

Who doesn’t love a funky handwash? I am a big fan of these handwashes, they smell so good! And they are a great way of getting your kids to enjoy handwashing after they have been to the toilet. The only problem with these is the glucose in them. Yep, you read that right. If you are testing your blood sugars, don’t use these handwashes because they will screw up your readings. But if you don’t need to check your bloods, then there is no reason that you can’t enjoy some bubbles.

A bar of soap

Baylis & Harding Skin Natural Spa

This little bar of soap came as part of a gift set but it was probably my favourite thing out of the set. I love a good bar of soap for when I am in the bath instead of using a body wash. This was a dinky little bar that looked great in the soap dish and was handy for in the bath. Soap is one of those underrated bathroom items that everyone should use from time to time, but maybe that’s just me who thinks that.

iCurl Mascara

Mirenesse Cosmetics iCurl Mascara

This has been one of those hidden gems of a mascara that you didn’t know that you needed. I had never heard of this brand before I got sent this (I can’t remember if it was in a beauty box or a PR had sent it, not that it matters now). This has to be one of the most underrated mascaras that I have ever used. The mascara goes on and surrounds the lashes, making little tubes to enhance the lashes. You don’t even need eye makeup remover, you can just pull the tubes off your lashes! So handy when you can’t be annoyed fighting with your eye makeup at the end of the day.

Avon Styling

I know I give Avon some stick sometimes, but there are some Avon products that are actually decent. The Advanced Techniques range isn’t bad for the price and I really like this styling protect spray. Not only did this spray help to protect my hair from heat styling, but it also left it very smooth and soft. This is another of those little, hidden gems that you should keep in stock in your bathroom.

Fun Spray

Desigual Fun Eau de toilette for woman

I remember when I got this from the lovely PR people and I was so excited to test this out. I love a good spray of scent and this was no exception. Top notes are pear, white peach, and cranberry; middle notes are passionfruit, violet and peony; base notes are sandalwood and teak wood. This would be perfect for anyone who loves a fruity scent if you are looking for a nice Christmas present for the ladies in your life.

Bath Salts

Don’t be fooled by this little bottle because it is a little bottle of magic! This comes my good friend Lisa over at Naturally Clean NI and is one of my favourite bath salts, especially after a long run. Lisa has been off work recently after having her baby but she is planning on getting back to work in early 2019 so keep an eye out on my Facebook page for more info.

Body Cream

MONUspa Enriched Body Cream

Speaking of products to use after a big run, and I know you guys will all be going hardcore with your training again in the New Year, this is the body cream for you. This is a bit on the pricey side but it is definitely worth it for when your skin is feeling stingy after sweating loads. I could not get enough of this cream! But even if you aren’t a runner (or like exercise) this is still a beautiful cream to use after a shower or bath for silky soft skin.

Voya Seaweed Shampoo

I thought I had died and gone to heaven using this shampoo! As you guys know, my hair is like straw after all of the bleach and the blue dye. This shampoo made my hair so soft and easy to manage I could overlook the £19 price tag for one bottle. But it is an organic and natural shampoo that works! Using it made me feel like a real mermaid for a brief moment before I realised I’m probably more like a banshee.

Fruity Shower Gel

if I have said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times, Superdrug does not get enough credit for their products. They have a happiness guarantee they don’t test on animals, their stuff is suitable for vegans….the list goes on. Anyway, I am a big fan of the shower gels because they are so cheap! I love the fact that they have all of that good stuff that I listed going on and it is still a good price.
