A few of my favourite things || 2016/2017

Favourite things

2016 is one of those years that most people won’t want to talk about. We had Brexit, Trump, and a string of celebrity deaths. But I’m not one to be negative….all of the time. There are some thing’s that happened to me in 2016 that were good. And I’m going to share them with you in the hope that it will help inspire you to reach for the stars.

Favourite Thing #1- Food

I love good food and with the rise of Instagram and Insta-worthy meals, my mouth has been watering for the last 12 months. In 2016, I decided to get my diet sorted. If you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen me posting random pictures of food. Although I am not a big veggie, I have been trying to expand my horizons with some vegan dishes.

They looked stupid but tasted great

This year I am aiming to create a completely new meal time for my family. I want to really expand our minds with the medium of food. I’m bored of eating the same things time and time again. I have loved Deliciously Ella: Awesome ingredients, incredible food that you and your body will love, the recipes are so much fun to make.  Another favourite has been Jamie Oliver and his Everyday Super Food programme. My mouth is watering just thinking about it…..

Favourite #2- Career

I’ve been writing for a while now, and in 2015 I had my fingers burnt by an editor. After that, I decided that I would work for me, and only me. So, I relaunched my site, launched my own YouTube channel, and I’ve been hammering away with my book(s). I’m really pleased with how the channel has grown and I’ve a few different things going on now. I’ve unboxing videos, tried and tested videos, and days out. I found the best travel camera, Panasonic, for my days out videos and photos.

I hope that this year I’ll get the channel, my site, and my social sites to grow. I am really excited about some of the brands I have been working with and I hope that I can work some more. I have been very lucky to review some amazing products from some wonderful companies.

Favourite #3- Family

I got a little surprise this year after me and the hubby had a night away by ourselves. Our family grew a little bit bigger with our latest addition, Connor. My family is the reason I do what I do. I want to help my husband financially with the house, but I wanted to work from home. That might sound silly to some people but after my kids got stuck down with chicken pox and I had to take time off work to look after them….it was a nightmare and my former employer should be ashamed of how I was treated.

An amazing view with my favourite people

It has been a tough year getting into the swing of everything (including night feeds) but we are getting there. This year for my family, I am hoping to get us moved (finally) and have a holiday. And in the interest of supporting other families, there is a banner below for Amazon hand-made. I do believe stuff is made by individuals for individuals. I could be wrong but I’m putting it there in the hope I’m right.

2016 was a horrible year for a lot of people. I hope that 2017 is the year that you find the happiness you deserve.

As always, the opinions here are my own. I can’t be bothered lying about stuff. And as normal, there are links to other sites and affiliate links. If you click on these, I earn a bit of cash.
